Ciarán Volke (he/him) is a queer artist based in unceded Lkwungen Territory. His work spans multiple mediums, including acting, improv, directing, standup comedy, filmmaking, poetry, and playwriting.

Born and raised in Treaty 7 land (Calgary, AB), Ciarán grew up in an artistic household that pushed him to pursue the performing arts. In high school, he discovered improv and fell madly in love with it. After winning the High School Improv Championships, he began to volunteer and perform with the Loose Moose Theatre where he cut his teeth as an improviser.

He moved to the West Coast to study theatre at the University of Victoria, receiving his BFA in Acting in 2020 just as the pandemic hit. He would continue to create and produce original work, having been a resident artist for Intrepid Theatre’s inaugural OUTStages Residency and Downstage Theatre’s Producing Mentorship.

In the Spring of 2022, he co-founded the award-winning comedy duo COWBOY, which has toured across Western Canada and most recently won Best Comedy and Best Duo at the 2024 Victoria Fringe Festival. He is also a co-founder of the Three Cheese Institute, whose most recent work, Enrichment Hour, premiered at the 2024 Ignite! Festival.
